- Although much smaller than the green anaconda, the yellow anaconda is the second largest boa species in South America.
- The yellow anaconda can grow to between three and four metres in length.
- There are three species of anaconda in the genus Eunectes, a Latin name which means 'good swimmer'.
- The yellow anaconda gives birth to live young.
The yellow anaconda has not yet been assessed by the IUCN, but is listed on Appendix II of CITES (1).
