Saltmarsh

Intertidal sands and mud flats, commonly found in the more sheltered regions of the Arabian Gulf coast, are biologically diverse habitats and provide large numbers of invertebrates for foraging shorebirds. These rich ecosystems also provide valuable stopover and breeding habitat for a number of regionally and internationally important populations of migrant waterfowl.
