In the News: Nature health check finds UK wildlife to be in trouble
تهيمن اللافقاريات على عالم الحيوانات في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة سواء من حيث النوع أو العدد. وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن دولة الإمارات تعتبر موطنا لحوالي 5,000 إلى 10,000 نوع من أنواع الحشرات، مع وجود أعداد كبيرة أخرى لم يتم التطرق إليها، فضلا عن مجموعة من العناكب والعقارب والحيوانات المفصلية الأخرى، وسبعة من أنواع القواقع البرية الأصلية. ويتناغم تنوع اللافقاريات البرية مع السلالات البحرية الملونة، والتي تشمل الإسفنج، والقشريات والرخويات وأعداد لا تعد ولا تحصى من الشعاب المرجانية، وهي مهمة للغاية في نشوء بيئة الشعاب المرجانية الهامة في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.
