الفطريات والأشنات
تمثل الفطريات مجموعة كبيرة من الكائنات غير المرئية في كثير من الأحيان، إلا أنها تشمل أيضا العديد من الفطريات المعروفة مثل عيش الغراب والفطر السام. ولعل أفضل الأنواع المعروفة في دولة الإمارات هي الكمأة الصحراوية، والتي تنتج أجسام ثمرية تحت الأرض تتميز بكونها صالحة للأكل. وفي داخل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة توجد الأشنات (كائنات حية تنتج عن علاقة تكافلية بين الفطريات والطحالب) في أغلب الأحيان في البيئة الصخرية، خاصة في البيئات الجبلية شرقي البلاد.
