تعد السواحل والجزر الإماراتية ذات أهمية عالمية للطيور الزائرة، وخاصة تلك الطيور الساحلية المهاجرة لمسافات بعيدة. وتتميز سواحل الإمارات العربية المتحدة بالتنوع الشديد، بدءاً من الشواطئ الصخرية الموجودة في خليج عمان إلى الجزر الرملية في الخليج العربي.

وتتكاثر مستعمرات كبيرة من الطيور البحرية ذات أنواع مختلفة في العديد من جزر الإمارات البحرية، وتشارك هذه الموائل المهمة مع مجموعات الأنواع الأخرى.
