ARKive is a noble project, one of the most valuable in all of biology and conservation practice. It has whatever support I am able to give it.

Who is supporting ARKive?
Major broadcasters, the biggest film and photo libraries, conservation organisations and leading academic institutions have all been quick to recognise the importance of ARKive and the value of creating a central safe-haven for their material. "Over the past few decades a vast treasury of wildlife images has been steadily accumulating, yet no one has known its full extent - or its gaps - and no one has had a comprehensive way of gaining access to it. ARKive will put that right. It will become an invaluable tool for all concerned with the well-being of the natural world."

"This will be a very important resource for the world. The necessity for a bank of images of endangered species and habitats which can be made accessible around the world through electronic media is enormously important."
Dr Claude Martin
Former Director General, WWF International
"Species extinction is a concern for all of us. At IUCN, our challenge is to communicate to the public what it means to lose species, and images are a vital part of that. ARKive provides us with a unique opportunity to reach a much broader public and as such, IUCN warmly welcomes this initiative and fully supports it."
Achim Steiner
Former Director General, IUCN - The World Conservation Union
"There is enormous value in archiving existing imagery of the variety of life on Earth. There is no other entity - apart from The Wildscreen Trust - capable of doing the job with anything near the quality of ARKive."
Dr Thomas E. Lovejoy
Former Senior Advisor to the President of the United Nations Foundation and Former Chief Biodiversity Advisor to the World Bank
"As part of the United Nations Environment Programme, one of our tasks is to keep people worldwide informed of what species are protected and why. In what we do, a picture really is worth a thousand words, therefore we've been in partnership with ARKive from the very beginning, and wish it every success."
Dr Mark Collins
Former Director, United Nations Environment Programme - World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC)
"ARKive is more than a museum - ultimately, it will help persuade others to protect what remains of the world's greatest source of artistic and scientific inspiration. They are images we should conserve with an intensity equal to that devoted to our greatest works of art. They are images that will haunt our grandchildren."
Andrew P. Dobson
Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Princeton University, USA
