The southern lowland wetzone purple-faced langur (T. v. vetulus), the dry zone purple-faced langur or northern purple-faced langur (T. v. philbricki), and the bear monkey or montane purple-faced langur (T. v. monticola) are classified as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List (1).
