Hood mockingbird  (Mimus macdonaldi)

Arthropods: A very diverse phylum (a major grouping of animals) that includes crustaceans, insects and arachnids. All arthropods have paired jointed limbs and a hard external skeleton (exoskeleton).
Carrion: Dead flesh.
Endemic: A species or taxonomic group that is only found in one particular country or geographic area.
Forage: To search for food.
Mesquite: A leguminous plant, (one that produces seeds in a pod), that is hardy and drought-tolerant.
Vertebrates: Animals with a backbone.
