Sri Lankan Forest

Sri Lanka

Located at the southern point of the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka has high levels of biodiversity. Nearly all of the island’s endemic plants and 75 percent of the endemic animals are found in the wet zone rainforests.

Located in the south-west lowland wet zone of Sri Lanka, Sinharaja Forest Reserve is Sri Lanka’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest. This forest has a high proportion of endemic species and provides a home for many threatened and endangered animals.
