- The four-lined snake is the largest of the rat snakes found in Europe, with adults reaching up to eight feet long.
- As the four-lined snakes matures, the four dark lines along its body become more prominent.
- Four-lined snakes feed on lizards, mice and rats.
The four-lined snake is classified as Near Threatened (NT) on the IUCN Red List (1).
