Classified as Endangered (EN) on the IUCN Red List (1) and is listed on Appendix I of CITES (2). Varieties Euphorbia decaryi ampanihyensis and Euphorbia decaryi spirosticha are classified as Vulnerable (VU), Euphorbia decaryi decaryi is classified as Endangered (EN) and Euphorbia decaryi robinsonii is classified as Critically Endangered (CR) on the IUCN Red List (1).
