Glossary

  • Perennial: plants that live for at least three seasons; after an initial period they produce flowers once a year.
  • Scute: one of the large keratinous scales on the carapace (the top shell of a turtle or tortoise).
  • Tubercle: a small wart-like or angular swelling.
