- Due to deforestation and being caught and killed by humans, the Carolina parakeet is now sadly Extinct.
- The Carolina parakeet was endemic to the Eastern USA.
- A riparian species, the Carolina parakeet was found in trees along rivers and swamps.
Classified as Extinct (EX) on the IUCN Red List (1).
