- Beta nana is found at 26 locations covering a total area of less than 1 square kilometre in the mountains of south and central Greece.
- Beta nana is threatened by overgrazing in some parts of its range and lack of grazing in other areas.
Beta nana is classified as Vulnerable (VU) on the IUCN Red List (1).
